The fleet had a great BBQ party on Saturday, with a terrific awards ceremony on Sunday, after the last race. Special thanks to Bruce Greene, Mike and Marilyn Foster, and their crew for doing a great job as Race Committee.
I have very exciting news about my ongoing quest to improve the PC history records. With the help of an email “acquaintance” from the Seattle area, I have received word from the owner of #57. More importantly, while he has owned his boat since 1984, he also knows the whereabouts of # 56 and #58!
As you all know, we recently lost our friend and supporter, Jean Sutphen. I know that beyond swimming, sailing and volunteer work, Jean’s greatest skill and gift was to smile and wave good bye for some 54 years, as Jack said “I’m going sailing, honey… I’ll be back later.”
In the shop, both hulls #14 and 36 have been painted as of last week. The interiors and finish work will commence soon so as to have them out of the shop and finished by the time this year’s Wooden Boat Festival, which begins on June 16th.
You should also remember that the annual Wooden Yacht Show is coming up the weekend of June 15th. The event will again be held at Koehler Kraft Boatyard and we expect it to be a great show with many new entries.
Four PC’s were out on the bay racing on February 4th, in the One Designs and March 4th saw our group in the bay. Thanks to Fleet Captain Dick Stratton for organizing some great events.
