The Sign up sheet for the JCAT 8/18 is now at the front desk at the SDYC. The Junior Coastal Anglers Tournament (JCAT) is usually meant for our SDYC Junior Anglers ages 8 and up who are able to bait their own hooks and cast independently. This is a TOURNAMENT with trophies and prizes in different categories so the kids are expected to fish 100% on their own! The JCAT is a 3/4 day trip on the Sea Watch out of Seaforth Sportfishing on Quivira Road. (7am-5pm) The charter is free of charge, however rod rentals are $25 per person, there is a charge for galley food, and you are expected to TIP the deckhands.
The Kids Fishing Trip on the Sea Watch on June 23rd is FULL. If you are signed up and unable to attend, please let me know ASAP. We have a waiting list. This is also a 3/4 day trip with the same costs as the JCAT.
Before the JCAT, kids will have an opportunity to compete for trophies and prizes at our Annual 4th of July Weekend Dock Fishing Tournament. The Tournament will be at SDYC on the guest Dock on Sunday July 7th. There is no advance sign up necessary for that tournament.
For those who haven’t heard, SDYC Anglers took home the trophy for the annual Bay Challenge on June 8th. Thank you to everyone who participated! Check out the next Mainsheet for more details about the tournament and our winning catches!
