Approved in 2019 by the Board of SDYC, the High-Performance Youth Sailing (HPYS) program at SDYC gives advanced training and support for youth sailors who are interested in internationally competitive boats. HPYS runs clinics in both the 29er and the ILCA and has loaner boats available in both classes. Contact SDYC Head Coach Jon Rogers for more information about if a HPYS clinic is right for you.

By providing affordable access to boats and high-level coaching, the HPYS program empowers motivated juniors to achieve their goals. Building this foundation of skills is critically important for competitive participation in all kinds of higher-level racing such as the Youth World Championships and the Olympics.
