Malin Burnham. Commodore 1967. Burnham, born on November 12, 1927 in San Diego, began his sailing career at age ten racing Starlets. He graduated from Stanford University in 1949 with a BS in Industrial Engineering. In 1945 Malin began his long list of achievements when he won the Star World Championship. Since then he has won four Lipton Cups and three San Francisco Challenge Cups as skipper, racing competitively nationally and internationally for 45 years. Recently he has turned to long-range power cruising. Burnham and his wife Roberta, along with their children John, Cathe, Tom, and Mary Beth, have been active members in the Club. Their previosly owned vessels include "Invader," and Ericson 46; "Bert I," a Nertram 38; and "Bert & I," a 90' long-range power yacht. Burnham chairs John Burnham & Co. and Burnham Pacific Properties, Inc. |
