US Sailing has selected SDYC's Nevin Snow to represent the U.S. as skipper at the inaugural ISAF Youth Match Racing World Championship July 22-27, 2014 in Finland. Snow and his team from Georgetown are the current intercollegiate Match Racing National Champions.

In the “you can’t have it all” theme, the racing today at the 42nd running of the Yachting Cup Regatta fell one item short. The day had full sun and a dry heat, the mariachis were passionately playing, and the evening beverages were in synch with the Cinco de Mayo celebration.
This year marks the 42nd running of the Yachting Cup Regatta, the signature event for San Diego Yacht Club on May 2-4. New this year is an expanded two and a half day format which combines both random leg racing with windward-leeward buoy courses to truly test the competitors.
On the weekend of April 4-6, SDYC sent a team comprise mainly of College All Americans, National Champions, America’s Cup Sailors and former US Sailing Olympic Team members to compete in the 2014 Baldwin Cup.
Most likely, the history books will show the 2014 San Diego to Vallarta race as not a particularly fast race, but it wasn’t a slow one either. We had two world class trimarans entered, and without a spectacular weather system to hurl them at once in a while speeds, both entries beat the flat out speed record from San Diego to Puerto Vallarta.

At the Sailing Leadership Forum Awards Dinner, hosted by the San Diego Sports Hall of Fame, San Diego Yacht Club was recognized as the One Design Club of the Year for outstanding organizational achievements in training, community and one-design sailing.
