San Diego Yacht Club is proud to congratulate club members Cole Harris, winner of the Hartley Award as the Junior Yachtsman of the Year, and Joanne O'Dea, winner of the Alonzo de Jessop Memorial Award.
The Hartley Award is conferred annually upon the boy or girl who shall have been judged to have made a significant contribution to junior sailing activity in San Diego County. In effect, this is the “Junior Yachtsman of the Year” award for San Diego County.
The Alonzo de Jessop Memorial Award is for Outstanding Service to Yachting, to reciepients including, individuals, business firms, fraternal organizations, boating groups, and governmental bodies deemed to have performed services to yachting beyond the recipients’ normal obligations.
