2007 PC Bylaws & Rules Revision

By | February 02, 2010

In 2007, then Fleet Captain Bennet Greenwald and his board made an attempt to revise the PC Rules. There were many issues in the "last" bylaws revision that, in effect, could exclude some boats from participating in races and certainly the PC Nationals. Because of technological changes over the years, issues as sail materials, carbon fiber spinaker booms, etc. demanded that the rules be modified to meet today's boats as they are. With the help of present Fleet Captain, Tom Hurlburt, Jack Sutphen and Bud Caldwell the project began. Navel architect Greg Stewart and Bruce Sutphen were asked to assist with measuring and defining the rules. After several months, a proposed copy of the PC rules were submitted to the board. The revisions were fine tuned and approved. Bennet and the whole group deserive our thanks for taking on this huge task. It had been many years since the last revision. For a look at this long over due end product, see the 2007 PC Bylaws/Rules Revision.
