ARE YOU READY? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!
We're on a mission -- northbound about 35 miles to the lovely and exclusive anchorage of the U.S. Marines. Come join us to test your boats for the upcoming Summer Season and renew friendships among the anchored vessels.
We'll plan to arrive between noon and 4:00 pm on Friday. Please be prepared to set a bow and/or stern anchor. If you've not anchored in a while, don't worry - the anchoring is easy and we'll be there to help each other. It's a great trip with beautiful views of the coastline along the way, something you regret if you don't attend.
For those wishing to drive: Getting on-base at Camp Pendleton may be difficult, but Friday night at Oceanside Yacht Club is open to all wishing to attend. Please contact Lance Murphy if you want to investigate driving onto the base.
Friday afternoon: Please arrive after noon and before 4:00 pm.
Friday evening: At 6:00 pm we'll make landing via dinghy at the Oceanside Yacht Club - khaki's are appropriate but camouflage paint not required. There we'll enjoy their hospitality with drinks at their bar followed by dinner prepared by their team (all paid individually by cash/credit card).
Saturday morning: You have the option of breakfast aboard or visiting one of the many little restaurants in the Oceanside harbor. Later in the morning we'll have time for kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding instead of calisthenics.
Saturday afternoon: We'll enjoy a march (walk) on the private beach of Camp Pendleton before having lunch at Ramone's cafe. It's a very casual affair and makes for a great time to unwind and relax.
Saturday evening: The anchorage will be our venue for shared appetizers and desserts (and drinks). Please plan to visit friend's boats - further details will be sent out the week before the Cruise.
Sunday morning: We'll enjoy some 'eye-openers' before we pull anchors and depart for our voyage back to SDYC.
