The official first event of the Catalina Cruise is a reception in Avalon on Sunday, September 9th. The specific location will be disclosed before you leave to go to Avalon. For those of you who would like to take an easy cruise up the coast,  the April Fool II will be in Mariners Cove, Mission Bay on Thursday afternoon, the 6th. On Friday, we are going into Oceanside and staying the night at either OYC or in one of the guest slips assigned by the Oceanside Harbor Police. On Saturday morning, we will head up to Dana Point to anchor in the west basin of the Dana Point Harbor. Then on Sunday we will head over to Avalon.

Our first official event will be in Avalon for an late afternoon cocktail hour in a location to be secured. Each cruiser will secure their mooring when they arrive at Avalon Harbor.

On Monday, September 10th we will gather in the Transportation pavilion to take taxis to Mt. Ada –the Wrigley Mansion. The setting is the best in Avalon with views that are totally awe inspiring. We are each responsible for making our reservations. Make your reservations by calling Mt. Ada for table reservations (we could not make a group reservation but should be able to make individual reservations, they have tables of four and of six.) PH: 310510-2030.  The cost of the event is $58 per person, includes three course meal and all beverages (wine, beer, soft drinks). On Monday evening we will have a BYOB party aboard one of our Fleet boats.

Tuesday September 11th is our day at Buffalo Beach. You will secure a mooring at Whites Landing and explore our fantastic Buffalo Beach Station. At 4:30pm Wine & Cheese with be served at the newly constructed Buffalo Beach Lodge. At 6:00pm we will proceed to the camp grounds for a wonderful dinner from La Cocina di Italia, dinner will freshly prepared and served in the camp ground and served with wine. Desert will feature Limoncello made from Pt. Loma lemons.

On Wednesday September 12th transit to Cherry Cove in the morning with an easy afternoon. The evening will be a mix it up party with everyone being assigned another couple to share dinner with. The pairing will be assigned by the Cruise Committee.

On Thursday September 13th at 10am the Fleet will gather at the USC Marine Campus and for a tour of their grounds and the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber. The cost of this tour is $5.00 per person. Thursday evening will be another BYOB event.

Friday, September 14th morning will feature our annual Frisbee Golf Tournament at the Two Harbors Frisbee Golf Course. This fun event allows those adventurous Cruisers to wander about the picturesque east pasture of the Two Harbors Property. Dinner will begin at 5:30pm Harbor Reef Inn. Watch for the theme to be announced for this fun evening of shared experiences.

Saturday is the day to head out either back to one of the other Catalina Island ports or out to explore the Channel Islands, Newport Beach or proceed to back to SDYC.
