The unique the bond between the CYA and SDYC began with the first race to Acapulco in 1953. The clubs have continued to work together on our biennial races to the Mexican mainland, now to Puerto Vallarta, and in linking those races to the Mexican Ocean Racing Circuit (MEXORC). Also, a key aspect reinforcing the relationship is the Corinthian competition in our many sailing Challenges between CYA and SDYC members over the years. These Challenges typically alternate between Acapulco and San Diego, and the competition is fun, intense, and even. And finally, each club has a tradition of welcoming the Members and visiting yachts of the other club with great generosity and enthusiasm.
