Description Albert A. Frost, Sr. Commodore 1966. Frost, born on November 6, 1918, attended local san Diego schools and Stanford University, where he earned his A.B. in Engineering in 1941. An owner of Frost Hardwood & Lumber Company. Al took four first place finishes in the International 110 Class from 1959 to 1962. As a result, he reveiced SDAYC's Yachtsman of the Year Award in 1962. Frost, whose sailing experience included time in Starlets, Stars and Dragon Class, also reveiced the Club's Yacht of the Year award in 1971 with the 110 "Lani." As commodore, he spearheaded the rebuilding of new docks for the southeast corner of the club and an increase in slip spaces.
