Robert Mann
Bob Mann was just 18 years old when he bought PC #7 TIANA. A skilled sailor, he was invited to take place in the famous 1931 S Class/PC Regatta in Hawaii. At the time of the race, Bob was just 19 years old! Along with all the other PC's, #7 was sold in Hawaii after the regatta. Bob came back to the SDYC but did not buy another PC. It is believed that he immediately became involved with the Star Class and soon became Fleet Champion. Over the years, Bob also owned a Dragon and was active in the 110 Class in the 1950s. In later years, Bob served as a sailmaker and coach in Europe for the Israeli Olympic team, using his "Winningway" sails. The team dominated the European circuit in a 5 year span in the 420/470 Class. Unfortunately for Bob, Israel boycotted the 1980 Olympics.
