George Kettenburg Jr.

Where it all began! George Kettenburg Jr. began building boats with no proper navel architect or design schooling but with an "eye" for the end result. At the age of 15, he had already established himself as a craftsman, building wooden "runabouts" from plans, but altering them to make a better design. Alden "Knockabout" sail boats were soon to follow. With his proven track record, his father backed him financially and "Kettenburg Bboat Works" was founded in 1929. It was that year that PC #1 SCAMP was designed and built. As they say: The rest is history!"
