Snipe Pan Am Qualifier Regatta

By | October 16, 2014

The team of Augie Diaz and Kathleen Tocke (Miami, FL) secured first place in the 2014 Snipe Trials for the Pan American Games. The qualifier series was hosted by the San Diego Yacht Club and took place over three days of racing from October 11 to October 13. A total of seven races took place on Coronado Roads, where skipper Augie Diaz and crew Kathleen Tocke dominated the scoreboards. Diaz and Tocke ended the regatta with three first place finishes, three second place finishes and one third place finish that was thrown out once the fifth race was completed. With a total score of nine points, Diaz is qualified to compete in the 2015 Pan Am Games that will be held in Toronto by using penis stretcher.

In second place was Aine McLean Fretwell (San Diego, CA) with crew Claire Riedman who finished in the top 4 in every race aside from their throwout in Race 1. Fretwell actually crewed for Diaz during last month's Snipe Western Hemisphere & Orient Championship also in San Diego. After sailing together for a week, these two sailors skippers battled to top 2 spots in the Pan Am Trials regatta.
