[By Andrew Campbell] In what seems like yet another major oversight by the ISAF Council, the two keelboat classes: the Olympic Star and the Women’s Match Race formats were both dropped from the next Games in 2016 in Rio.

The Organizing Authority of the Etchells World Championships and San Diego Yacht Club announced today that the entry list is now at 80 boats from 10 countries: USA, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, France, Italy, Canada, United Emirates, Greece and Bermuda.

Members of San Diego Yacht Club are probably all aware of the tragedy that occurred last Sunday in San Diego Bay when a 26' MacGregor sailboat capsized with ten people aboard resulting in the deaths of two.
